Memory Lane (Shadow and Holly)

It was a dark Saturday night in the Gryffindor common room, six weeks after the champion selection.
Holly was to be found gazing out of a window down into the grounds.

Shadow lay curled up in front of the fire, dozing quietly.

Holly leaned forward to get a better look at the Ravenclaw Quidditch team, who were in the grounds, coming back from practice evidently. The second she put her hand on the window, everything around them moved and the scene was changed.
The first task, evidently, had begun.

Shadow was on her feet in a flash, wagging her tail.

"We're tasking!" Holly said excitedly, looking around. Of course, it would have to be dark.
"Champions!" came Dumbledore's voice from somewhere unknown, "At this moment you are in a huge maze, all at different points but equal distances from the centre. Your task is simple, find the centre. But be warned, you are not alone."

Shadow was quivering, her tail wagging like mad. She could sense all the tension and excitement in the air, and it was getting to her.

"Are wolves sight better than humas?" Holly asked hopefully, "Cause Holly can't see 'nuthin..."
A thought suddenly hit her.
"You are there aren't you!?" she demanded, "Roth? ROTH!?"

Shadow nipped Holly lightly on the leg, and started to slink into the maze.

"Yup, that's you." Holly confirmed, and stepped after her, wand aloft.
"I should probably light this." she remarked, and did so.

Shadow slunk along the passage, belly close to the ground as if she was stalking something.

Holly hovered her wand over Shadow, eyebrows raised, but made no comment.

Shadow stopped, and sniffed the air.

((Ooh.......))

Holly looked around carefully. Hannah went to find her 'Goblet of Fire' book, to steal ideas.
Meanwhile Arnold the fly buzzed around, annoying everyone.

Shadow sat down, pondering.

Holly's wand sought two large wardrobes blocking their way through the maze.
"Boggarts." Holly said without hesitation, "I'm pretty sure."
She poked one slightly. It rattled.

Shadow rolled her eyes. How old...

"How old." Holly remarked, and took out her wand, "Right. One each I would say. I'll do mine first shall I .... ?"
She opened the wardrobe.
Out came ...

Shadow sat back while Holly tackled her boggart, wondering what hers would turn into.

Out of the wardrobe fell a lifeless body, which then changed physique, and then changed back again. From Shadow to Natalie, Natalie to Shadow.
"Gross." Holly commented, "What's the word again? The magic one?"
She clicked her fingers at herself in impatience.

Shadow thought that this was completely ridiculous.

"But seriously." Holly said, not understanding, "I kind of need the charm."

Shadow rolled her eyes.

"IF YOU'RE NOT GOIN TO BE HELPFUL MAYBE I SHOULD SWAP PARTNERS!" Holly yelled.
There was a crackling sound and Dumbledore's voice was to be heard over an intercom system.
"There is to be no swapping of parnters. That is all."

Shadow morphed back and whacked Holly round the head.
"If we can't work as a team when I'm a wolf, then so be it." She hissed before drawing her pure black wand from her belt, and pointing it at one of the wardrobes.

"Wand. Right." Holly said raising an eyebrow, "Good luck with yours now."
She finally remembered the charm, pointed her wand at the now Natalie figure and said "Riddikulus!"
The figure exploded leaving behind streamers in different colours.
"Your turn."
