Memory Lane (Shadow and Holly)

"I trust precious few, so who were they?" Shadow snapped.

"At the beginning I assumed your parents would be the best bet," the woman said indicating Holly, "Then I realised-"
"That I speak to them as little as possible and only return to that house to steal money from on top of the microwave?"
"Exactly," the woman said irritated, "Now please get off me."

"And that one of my parent's is dead and the other confined to the pits of hell?" Shadow said.

"That too," the woman muttered, "So then I looked for friends-"
"Nat?" Holly breathed.
"No, she was too hard to trace," the woman muttered, cursing herself, "You're really starting to hurt me!"

"What friends. I only have two." Shadow snorted.

"How sad," the woman smiled, causing Holly to dig her knee further into her back, "Ow-ow-ow... okay okay. Hogwarts....the Transfiguration teacher at Hogwarts!"
"Who else?" Holly asked.
"Your flying coach!"
"No way!" Holly said, gobsmacked, "I told him everything!"

"Mcgonnagle?!" Shadow shouted.

"Thats the one," the woman said, cringing at the shouting.
"Who else," Holly said, "WHO ELSE?"
"A guy .... some ... dude...." the woman said, finding it hard to breathe, "Riley."

Shadow looked up to the sky and let out a bellow of pure rage.

Holly froze.
"Liar," she said, almost hopefully.
She cringed at Shadow's scream.
"Ah...see ... if that's right ...I er.... I might have told him .... everything..."

Shadow's eyes were narrowed dangerously.
"Why do you want us?"

Feeling incredibly stupid with herself, Holly listened to the reply.
"Work," the woman said honestly, "I hear when persuaded you do anything."
"Well thats lies," Holly said.
"What if I were to push a gun to her head and say I would shoot her if you didnt punch a kid in the face, would you do it?" the woman asked Holly. Holly finally saw where this was going. "Oh ... right that. Yeah I might..."

"And if we walk out of here? You have no hold over us." Shadow said.

"You didnt think I came on my own did you?" the woman asked, eyebrows raised, "No no, even if you did get away Id know where to find you. See that's the beauty in having an inside man ... you have all the information .... all the secrets ...."

"Fine, what's the number of my dimension then?" Shadow said.

"1-2-3- Shut up," the woman said.
"That would almost be cool, if you werent so lame," Holly said.

Shadow shook her head with a sigh.

"I know, shes desperate," Holly said sighing, "Now ... what exactly do you know .... thats so special?"
"I knwo your favourite colour is black," the woman recited, "I know your friend is not as young as she looks, I kno exactly where you were the night you told you dad you were staying at a primary school friend's house, I know she has three siblings and I know you once had a crush on your teacher."

Shadow was slightly confused.
Does she know about Arc and Onyx? She wondered.

"I also know what happened with a certain Dark Lord that cause a certain mishap .... two kids....."

She grinned.

Shadow's anger reached a boiling point where her eyes flickered red and stayed that way as she drew her knife and changed towards the woman.

Holly was so shocked she didnt even have time to jump up and yell. She reeeeally hoped Shadow's aim was good, or she herself may get stabbed.

Shadow threw the dagger with expertiese, and it hit the wall just a millimeter from the woman's head.

Holly silently said 'thank you' to Arias, and sighed lightly.
"Does that make you scared or happy? Seeing her like that?" Holly asked the woman, who shrugged.

Shadow struggled, but succeded to control her other side, stopping her rage.
