Memory Lane (Shadow and Holly)

"There we go," Holly said, "Moving on-"
She stepped off the woman carefully to stand at Shadow's side.
"We're pretty annoyed at this." she remarked.
The woman spat on the ground, and stood herself.

Shadow's hand flexed under her cloak as she watched the woman.

"So am I," the woman said finally, "And so you will accept that I have reason for doing this-"
In a flash she had jumped over the banistair, and there were two loud bangs from the room behind Shadow and Holly.
"Uhm..."

Shadow leapt after the woman, landing on the floor below wit hthe style and grace of an elf.

"LEAVE ME ALONE!" the woman yelled, and looked up the stairs to where two men had just appeared behind Holly, "Get them"

Holly turned around, a rather pathetic look on her face.
"What did I do to deserve you idiots?" she asked.

"Sould have thought of that before challenging us." Shadow snarled, advancing towards the woman.

"Oh stop telling me how to do my job!" the woman said, though she backed away a little nervously, and picked up the fire poker.

Meanwhile, Holly felt sorry for herself, and fumbled with her wand.
"Kids?" one man said to the other, "We were sent to catch KIDS?"
"Apparently devious kids," the other said, "Evil ones."
"Im right here," Holly said, and hesitated before running down the corridor. "Never mind!" she called back, "Im not!"

Shadow summoned the fire poker with her magic before throwing it aside.

The woman seemed to become more pleased with herself as time went on.
"They trained you well," she commented, and summoned her wand.

Shadow summoned her magic, so that it glowed in a dark halo around her.

"Impressive," the woman commented, "You will make a good worker when I'm finised with you..."
She grinned and shot severa hexes at Shadow.

Shadow cartwheeled and flipped out of the way of the curses, still ready to fight.

The woman positively beamed.
"Excellent!" she said, and swirled her wand awkwardly to produce silver ribbons, which shot towards Shadow.

Meanwhile (back at the ranch), Holly was busy attempting to outrun two incredibly bad-haired men.

Shadow's eyes widened slightly and she dodged the silver quickly, feeling the effects as it narrowly missed her.

Overjoyed, the woman sent a few more random silver ribbions.

"Kid-is-fast," panted the oldest of the man, hurrying to catch up.

Shadow dodged the ribbins again until one managed to wrap itself around Shadow's forearm.

"Ah," the woman said grinning from ear to ear, "Good, but not good enough...."

Holly had to stop running, and leaned against a large window pane.
"AHA! GOT YOU!" yelled one of the men.
"Look, that wasnt fair, gimme a minute to get my breath back," Holly muttered.
"Didya- wow!"
The second of the men came to a sudden hault in front of Holly, but not sudden enough. He slammed straight into said adorable (!) child, and she fell straight out of the window.
The men's swears were not loud enough to drown out the horrible crash and clang as the window broke.

Shadow pulled at the ribbon as she heard the crash. Trying to teleport, she remembered that she couldn't and let off a string of demonic swears.

"If the other one's dead I will kill those two!" the woman said, nostrils flaring, "WHAT HAPPENED?"
The men both cringed and made to walk downstairs.

Meanwhile, Holly fell through time, space, and alternate universes.
^^Theres a sentence I never thought I'd say ...

Shadow's eyes narrowed.
"GET THIS THING OFF ME!"

"Temper temper," the woman warned, in a tinkling tone, as the men arrived in front of them.
"Uh ... she uh .... fell ... your majesty..."
"Your evilness...." added the other.

Shadowswore again.

"You idiots.....go search for her!" the woman commanded.
The men looked at eachother.
"But your evilness....its alternate dimensions out there! How are we meant to know-"
"JUMP OUT THE WINDOW!" the woman said, as if it were obvious.

Shadow darted away, up the stairs to follow Holly.

The men looked after her stupidly for a minute, then realised what they should probably be doing, and ran after her.
The woman sighed and took out a few migraine tablets. It had been a long day.

"I am sooo screwed...." Holly muttered sadly. She finally landed, hard on her side.
