Memory Lane (Shadow and Holly)

"You might as well," Holly admitted pityingly, and she apparated the two to Ireland. Banbridge, to pe prescise. At the very edge of the countryside.

Shadow shook herself and sneezed as they landed. She hated apparation. It was a more crude way of teleporting.

"Still in one piece?" Holly asked nervously. She had had one bad apparation involving splinching. Though Holly didnt think this would be a very good story to tell Shadow.

Shadow nodded and looked around.

"Thank gawd," Holly muttered under her breath, and led the way up a small driveway. Once there she fished in her pockets and swore.
"No keys," she said rolling her eyes. She hammered on the door.
A few seconds later it was opened by a man in a Shamrock shirt.

((IRELAND!))

Shadow stood next to Holly, trying to seem the innocent dog, but it's kinda hard when your canines are all too apparent.

The man raised an eyebrow.
"Whats that?" he asked rudely, indicating Shadow.
"Yeah, hi Dad, nice to see you too. Where've I been for the past two months? Oh long story, how have you been? And its not a 'that' its a 'her'."
Holly pushed on past and began to climb the staircase, glancing behind her to make sure Shadow was following.

Shadow trotted after Holly, slightly offended at the man.

Holly opened the first door on the right to reveal a messy bedroom, the exact same way she had left it, two months ago.
"Sorry about him," she muttered, tossing open a trunk in the corner, "Now .... what do I need?"

Shadow cautiously sniffed at a strange pile in the corner of the room and recoiled sharply with a yelp. Holding her breath, she pulled a two month old dirty sock out.

"Well not that!" Holly said rolling her eyes.
She packed some clothes (well more 'threw' them) into the trunk, and tipped in some school books.
"Im gonna forget something...." she muttered, "I know I am...."

Shadow tried to help by picking things up and putting them in the trunk, but that was a bit difficult when it came to the broom.

Holly grinned at Shadow gratefully.
"Hm....." she said, looking at the broom, "I may well carry tha' over me shoulder.....It will look slightly weird at King's Cross, but would you worry?"
This was a rhetorical question. I know FANCY words.

Shadow did look a bit concerned.

"S'not like we're gonna get mugged cause we have a broom," Holly said reasonably, throwing last minute items into her trunk and locking it, "Though we might look a little socially challenged. Well I will. You'll look like a wolf with a socially challenged girl."

Shadow jokingly howled in despair.

Holly snorted under her breath and swung her broom over her shoulder.
"Ready? Okay, lets go then,"

Shadow morphed back to human form.
"One minute." She said before taking the collar and lead out of her bag and handing them to Holly.
"It's law, don't ask." She said before morphing back again.

"Uh, okay," Holly said, but hesitated, "They arent silver are they? I aint puttin them on you if they're silver."

Shadow shook her head meaning that there was no silver in them.

Holly nodded and crouched down in front of her to fasten on said collar.

Shadow sat still, but there was a grimace on her wolf face.

"Dont look like that," Holly said, "You make me feel as if it's my fault.... which it kind of is."

Shadow shrugged and braced herself for apparation.

Holly smiled bravely and apparated the two to King's Cross.
"Huh......five to eleven," Holly said, checking the large clock, "We're early."
