Memory Lane (Shadow and Holly)

Shadow stood up again, composed, and brushed bits of leaf off her cloak.

Holly turned and spotted Shadow.
"Uhm, what the hell?" she asked weakly, coming to her side.

"Nothing." Shadow assured her friend, pulling her hood up to cover her face.

Holly blinked several times.
""Nothing"?" she repeated, eyebrows raised, "See this is the reason for everything going all crap in the first place....YOU not telling me stuff!"

"And you are surprised?" Shadow asked.

"If you would tell me stuff we'd be a happier couple!" Holly said in a child-like fashion.

"We're not a couple." Shadow pointed out. "And there are somethings that you don't need to know."

"Whatever," Holly said rolling her eyes, "I'm sick of trying to communicate with you anyways."

"Fair enough." Shadow said.

"Yup......I just don't care...." Holly lied, nodding, "I just don't give a dang .... I really don't..... I read somewhere that it's bad for couples to keep things from eachother but ... whatever..."

"And youre lying." Shadow said.

"I'm not...." Holly said, "Now ... I don't see any of the other champions ... so maybe this isn't the actual center....I think we went wrong somewhere and gotta get out. Agreed?"

"Perhaps." Shadow said.

"I WOULD RATHER PROPER ANSWERS PLEASE!" Holly said irritably, "SINCE WHEN WAS I THE BRAINS?!"

"You never were." Shadow pointed out again.

"So YOU get us out." Holly concluded, "You're annoying me now."

Shadow strode away to investigate. She pondered over what she had remembered that ad made her go a bit... strange...

"I am pondering over what made her go a bit strange." Holly said, as a reply to George's concerned look, "She don't tell me 'nuthin anymore...."

"Double negative Holly." Shadow called back. "And correction, I only tell you what you need to know."

"It weren't not double negative!" Holly called over her shoulder, "And I tell YOU everything!"

Shadow rolled her eyes again and loped off into the rapidly descending mist. Her black form was swallowed up by the greyish white fog, leaving a slightly darker grey, wolf shaped patch.

"You get used to her." Holly assured George, and sighed, "Now have YOU any ideas as to how we're gettin' outta here?"
George shrugged.
"Uh...... Brooms?"
"We don't gots 'um."
"Dragons?"
"Stop making suggestions."
"Okay."

Somewhere in the mist between Holly and Shadow, a wall rose from the ground, splitting the two teams. Holly and George on one side, Shadow and George's partner, Jack, on the other side.

Holly looked up at the noise.
"What was that?" George whispered.
"Dunno.....where's Shadow...?"
"She went uh ... this way," George said, and walked in the approximate direction. He walked right into the wall and fell down.
"Smart." Holly commented.

On the other side, Jack ran along the wall, and promptly tripped over Shadow, who had sat down to think about the situation.
