Memory Lane (Shadow and Holly)

Holly promptly prodded George once to check he was still alive.
He muttered something and stood up.
"There's a wall there ... be careful...."
"Yup...."

Jack picked himself up and saw Shadow, who morphed back.
"Next time, look where you're going, will you?" She said icily. The boy nodded, obviously terrified by this strange girl.

"I see ... there's a wall splitting me and you from Shad and your friend..." Holly said wisely.
"Yes....." George said slowly, "So to break it down we have to ...."
He pushed Holly backwards, and then stepped backwards himself and ran towards the wall with all his might. Of course, he fell backwards again.

Shadow started to scout along the wall, until she found something scratched on it:

When you can't look into the future, nor to the past, who do you turn to?

"So ... YOU want to think of somethin' to do?" George asked.
"I'll THINK about it..." Holly said slyly.

Shadow pondered on the question for a few moments. Yes, she likes to ponder.
"Is it a best friend?"

Something on the wall blinked, and the riddle changed...

"I miss Shad," Holly said sadly, "She likes to ponder, and she's smartical."
"It's okay, we'll get to them, I'll call Jack. JAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK!"
There was silence.

Shadow pondered on the next riddle, and answered it, only to be confronted with another one;

"They aren't listenin to us," Holly commented.

Shadow looked at the wall, and muttered a spell. She grabbed Jack by the collar and levitated them over.

Meanwhile, Holly and George were playing 'Guess What Colour I'm Thinking'. They had played this game fifty three times. The colour 'blue' had been said fifty times.

Shadow landed next to Holly.
"Miss us much?" She asked as she unceremoniously dumped Jack on the ground.

Holly looked up stupidly.
"Oh, there they are," she said to George, who had evidently already noticed, "Hallo!"

Shadow rolled her eyes.
"Ok," she said, ignoring several memories that were trying to get her attention. "We need to figure out a way to get out of here."

"Uh, y'think?" Holly asked sarcastically, "Now I vote......right .... I vote ... I vote George vote something..."

"Holly, use your brain for once." Shadow groaned, rubbing her temples.

"I always use it!" Holly said, very hurt by this comment, "But I dunno what to do!"

Shadow began to pace, her cloak billowing behind her and creating swirls in the mist.

"Think out loud if you can," Holly said after a moment, "The silence is killing me..."
"Me too," George agreed absently.

"Yeah, these thoughts I'd rather not say out loud." Shadow said pointedly, not stopping in her pacing.

"I thought we was meant to be thinkin of ways outta here...." Holly said confusedly, "What are YOU thinkin about?"

"You don't want to know." Shadow muttered darkly.

"I do though," Holly argued, but then she shrugged.

Shadow continued to pace.

"Way I see it, we have three options," Holly said suddenly, "One, we wait here until the other team wins and the task ends. Two, we walk around aimlessly in the dark searching for a way out, or searching for the centre, or three, you think of something."
She blinked rapidly in what she hoped was a pathetic way.
