Memory Lane (Shadow and Holly)

Shadow shook her head. She could smell, and it wasn't grindylows.

"I'm positive it is Grindylows." Holly stated, just because she liked to do that.
She looked around, attempting to see further than her eyes would let her. (?)

Shadow shook her head, throwing a disgusted look at Holly. It was pretty obvious to her, from the nights spent at the foot of Holly's bed, that the smell was not Grindylows, but rather a Holly Fart.

Holly furrowed her brow.
"How the hell would I know what a Grindylow smelled like anyways?" she asked thoughtfully. She shrugged and swam onwards.
"By the way, the giant squid hates me..."

Shadow thought to herself sarcastically: 'I wonder why'. She was thinking, of course, of the long hours Holly would tease the poor creature.

"I wonder why..." Holly thought aloud, "I just hope we don't meet him...."
She smiled at Shadow, just for something to do.

Shadow rolled her eyes and started to look around for the valuable items.

"You're so loving," Holly commented airily, and scanned the water, "Hey....that appears to be a treasure chest of some form, look."
She pointed downwards. Indeed. There it was.

Shadow shrugged, following Holly.

"Yay treasure chest!" Holly said happily, and she did a kind of dance before swimming down to open it.
"You're not saying much." she commented to Shadow.

Shadow shot an 'isn't it obvious' look at Holly, as she was a wolf.

"Ah yes, that's right..." Holly said thoughtfully, "I did research about wolves last night .... Oh that's right, I actually didn't ... Dunno what I was thinking..."
She tutted at herself and opened the chest.
"Okay .... there ain't no gold in here..."

Shadow stuck her nose inside to have a good snuffle around.

Holly gave Shadow a look and pulled her back out again.
"Look with your eyes." she said, and did so herself.
"Ahhh ... I understand.... No, no I dont."
Inside were several items; a snitch; a round metal shield, a potion vial, a part of a holly tree, a bookmark and a lipgloss.
"Well this is random." Holly commented.

Shadow stuck her nose back in and pulled out three things that had been hidden in the black of the chest. Two black leather cords, each with a pendant on them. A Wolf, and a Dove.

"Even MORE random now," Holly commented, examining the Wolf and the Dove, "I mean I would have said that they meant something about me cause of the snitch and the holly... but I dont get the book- OH! It means BOTH of us!"
Holly clapped herself.

Shadow shrugged, and started to swim back out of the cave.

"Okay ... you know this is probably it?" Holly called over her shoulder, "We've probably won."

Shadow thought otherwise, but she continued on.

"Hey.....a dove and a wolf...." Holly said thoughtfully, "Ain't that Arch and ..... No?"

Shadow shook her head.

"It means SOMETHING though!" Holly said.

Shadow nodded, and was glad as her nose broke the surface of the lake.

Holly took a deep breath of the normal air. It was so much nicer than the water she had been breathing.
"Second back are Shadow and Holly," Dumbledore announced.
"Second? You are KIDDING ME!" Holly yelled, pushing her fringe out of her eyes to look around.

Shadow shrugged and clambered out of the water, the pendants grasped firmly but gently in her mouth.
