Memory Lane (Shadow and Holly)

"But its schoooool!" Holly said stamping her foot in a most child-like fashion, "You're like my mum sometimes!"

"But you will go to class, now go to sleep." Shadow mumbled the last part as she fell asleep herself.

Holly was still furious, but couldnt help smile slightly as she fell into bed.
"Night mum..." she muttered sarcastically.

Shadow woke up at six the next day and stretched, flexing her wings.

"What time s'it?" Holly mumbled opening one eye half way.

"About six." Shadow said.

Holly screamed lightly into a pillow as she often did when people woke her up too early, and pulled her duvet up over her head.
It was a duvet day.

Shadow stood up and silently disappeared, appearing again in a secluded corner of the grouds.

After about three and a third minutes of feeling sorry for herself, Holly sat up and yawned.
"She gone already?" she asked no one. They didnt answer. "Okay then...."

Shadow spread her wings, familiarising herself with them.

"Where's your wolf?" a surly girl in Holly's dorm asked.
"With your mother." Holly said without thinking, and made her way out to the grounds.

Shadowjumped, flapping her wings, but landed face down in the grass, swearing in demonic.

Holly caught sight of what she thought looked like Shadow, and watched her carefully.

Shadow tried again, managing to stay airbourne, hovering a few meters off the ground.

Holly grinned, glad things were working a little.

Shadow landed again, shivering slightly. Her cloak lay under a tree, but it was hard to wear it with wings. Jumping up again, she went higher.

Holly silently made her way over to said tree, and sat down underneath it, watching patiently.

Shadow landed again, a small smile on her face until she saw Holly.
"And your lessons Holly?"

"Im gonna fail 'em all anyways," Holly said shrugging ,"Continue, you're getting better!"

Shadow grabbed Holly's arm, taking flight again.

Caught by surprise, Holly swore. The sixteen letter word that her mum had said should never be used. Ever.

Shadow dropped Holly at Care of Magical Creatures and flew off again.

"ATCH!" Holly yelled into the air, but Shadow was long gone.
"Nice of you to join us Bristol...." Professor Sprout said, looking up, "Now what was that?"
"A bird....an annoying bird..." Holly muttered, stepping out of the tray of soil Shadow had convieniently dropped her in.

Shadow was poised on top of the greenhouse, sniggering.

"It would have to be a tray of soil wouldnt it?" Holly muttered, brushing herself off, "Next time I see that girl .... Im gonna ... uh..... think of something to say thats mean .... !"
