Memory Lane (Shadow and Holly)

"You're acting as if you've hard a long hard day." Holly said, "That won't do us any good, we have to win this one too!"

Shadow lay down and put her paws over her ears.

"Yes, you do look unbearably cute when you do that," Holly sighed, and crouched next to her, "But we gotta win!"

Shadow sighed, and staggered back to her feet.

"Thank you," Holly said smiling slightly, and ruffling the wolf's hair.
Just then Dumbledore stepped up onto the stage.
"The second task is about to begin, Champions take your positions."

Shadow tiredly pulled herself into postion, wishing she was curled up at the foot of Holly's bed again.

Holly too, wished she was in bed again, but she stood next to Shadow, jumping up and down to warm herself up.
"You have one hour champions," Dumbledore continued, "Find your valued ... item shall we say, and then return to the surface, but know, you are not alone down there."
A trumpet sounded, indicating the start of the task.

Shadow, having cast a charm on herself beforehand, dived in.

Holly looked around, cast the same charm on herself, and dived in after her.

Shadow sighed, and swam deeper.

Holly glanced back at the surface an then tested the speaking devices she and Shadow had hooked up.
"You hear me?" she asked.

Shadow barked back.

"OW!" Holly muttered, poking at her ear device, "I heard that....well...."
She looked around the murky water.
"I appear to be wet," she commented, "Now, where d'ya reckon our valuable items will be?"

Shadow continued to swim down, making her point.

"Fine, ignore me," Holly said, "I'll just ask someone ELSE!"
She looked around the murky water, hesitated, and then swam with Shadow again.

Shadow was glad of her thick wolf coat that kept her warm. It was a bt chilly.

"It's a bit chilly." Holly commented, having no fur herself, "Oh look, an underground 'cavern' as you would say ....."

Shadow nodded and dived down towards it.

"Or cave," Holly continued, "But I'm tryin' to talk posher so I'm saying 'cavern'. ... Moving on..."
She swam inside.

Shadow's eyes rapidly adjusted to the dark, and she looked around.

Holly too, examined the 'cavern'.
"You would think I'd know what was about to happen in here," she said quietly to Shadow, "But I actually don't ... oh well, let's follow this tunnel and see what happens then."

Shadow nodded again and swam deeper.

"I'm starting to miss the sound of your voi- bark...." Holly commented, examining the tunnel they were in, "And there appears to be light at the end."



**Plots what the valuable items may be**

Shadow started to swim faster towards the light.

"Uh oh ... " Holly commented as they reached the end of the tunnel, "I smell Grindylows,"
This of course, was just a guess, because she could not smell anything.
